Veterinary Public Health Services receives these reports and coordinates follow up with the animal, the owner, and the person bitten to ensure that no further threat exists.

You can report if you or a pet has been bitten or scratched by a bat to Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC).

If the bat that has bitten or scratched you, or a pet, is in your house, do not release it. After reporting it, the bat will be picked up for rabies testing.
